Applying online for a credit
card is much faster as compared to the conventional method of heading
to your bank and filling out the paperwork involved.
When you apply for a credit
card, the bank will issue you with a card if you meet the set
requirements. You will be allocated a card account. This is different
from your normal bank account.
The credit card is used to pay
for goods and services or withdraw cash from an ATM. When the card is
used to pay for goods or services, approval will be
given depending on a number of factors but primarily
on availability of funds vis-a`-vis the allocated credit limit.
At the end of the credit period,
the bank will send you a statement of your card account showing
expenditure incurred over a period of time (normally a month).
Your card will have a credit
limit and will have a separate PIN. A credit limit is the maximum
amount that the bank has lent you to use on your card. Like any
lending, you pay interest on the amount you borrow on your card.
Your choice of credit credit
will ultimately be determined by your current financial situation and
your credit score.
Your credit score is a numerical
index which represents a person's financial credit-worthiness.
