- You can transfer balances from credit, loans or
overdrafts at a minimum balance of £100. You can also
transfer balances from more than one financial provider. The transfer
process takes a maximum of ten days. The beauty of this is that it can
be done easily online by the click of a mouse once
you open up an account! A handling fee of 2% is applied to the balance
transfers made in your introductory balance transfer period .
- As a reward for loyal
customers, Egg cards offer customers 0% interest on balance transfers
for up to five months. This special rate applies to balances
transferred in the anniversary month of the month your account was
first opened. For example, if you applied for an Egg credit card on
1-Jan- 2005, you get the anniversary offer every year until 2007!
- Applications for Egg cards is done online so you
are free from the hassles involved in paperwork and
it take only a few minutes to complete your application. Add to the
fact that managing your account online is so much easier.
- If you regularly pay your balances off in full
every month, you benefit from an interest-free period of up to 45 days
on all purchases. For cash advances and balance
transfers you'll be charged interest from the day the transaction goes
onto your account.
- The minimum credit limit on offer is £500
- There is no annual fee charged
on this card! Because everything is done online, it costs less to
administer the account so the savings are passed down to you.
- The card comes with an IInternet guarantee ie, you
are covered covered against any fraudulent transactions carried out
without your consent, whatever the amount.
- You recieve upto 10% cash back at selected online
retailers
- Only the residents of England, Scotland, Wales and
Northern Ireland can apply.
Fees associated with Egg credit cards
- You are charged £20 if:-
*If you don't keep up with your payments.
*If you go over your credit limit.
*If a payment is returned due to lack of funds.
- When you pay for purchases in foreign currency, a
charge of 2.65% s applied to the purchase amount.
- Egg charges £2 for each monthly paper
statement you request. If you have printer you can easily print the
statements online and avoid this fee.
- There's a fee of 2% charged on cash advance (with
the minimum fee being £2). However, if you are already an Egg
customer when you apply for an Egg Card, you won't be charged the cash
advance fee. Interest is charged from the day the cash advance shows on
your account. The interest rate is 20.9% pa variable.
